In 1974 the City of Covina modified one of their Bowles Full-Pack's (possibly this very one), to handle the Jumping Bean bag collector for street pick up of bag's. This system didn't last very long and today the city has privatized the collection of their refuse

City of Covina modified the truck to handle the Jumping Bean. This system, while good on paper, was an epic failure! During collection day, the street had to be void of cars and the mechanism on the front of the loader would rip the bags apart throwing more trash in the street than in the hopper. A street sweeper needed to follow each collection truck and was often full after a block or two.
